Let's break down the current design of the website to identify key areas for improvement.
Let's break down the current design of the website to identify key areas for improvement.
Let's begin with the tab bar design.
About us - Reorganise the top bar to place 'About Us' first, followed by 'Services,' 'Careem+,' and 'Partners.' This priorities key company information for new users, ensuring a logical flow and easy access to essential sections.
Also redistribute the spacing in the tab bar between the Careem logo, menu items, and 'Sign In' and language options. This improves visual balance, consistency, and overall ease of navigation.
Video - In fast-moving videos, excessive animation and rapid transitions can be overwhelming and detract from understanding, especially if they change too quickly for users to process.
Also the same information conveyed in the fast-moving video was also presented in text format below. This redundancy made the video unnecessary and ineffective, as users could already access the company’s purpose through the written content, which was easier to read and understand.
Cards - The website used four long cards with different colours to describe the services provided, but the context behind the varied colours was unclear. Using a consistent primary color for all cards would enhance clarity and maintain a cohesive, professional look.
They put the company icon in place of all service icons, resulting in a messy appearance and making it difficult to recognize individual services. Restoring distinct icons for each service would improve clarity and ease of identification.
Offer - They used a full-width horizontal size for the offer slide, which looks odd. Offers and coupon cards should be smaller to fit the design more appropriately and maintain visual balance.
Images - The images used in sections like About Us, Captains, Engineering at Careem and Our Social Impact are of low quality. Improving the image resolution would enhance the overall visual appeal and professionalism of these sections.
Abstract Shape - Everything displayed on the screen should have meaning and purpose. The use of abstract sharp shapes, while intended to look cool, does not effectively convey any message. Additionally, the inconsistency between the sharp shapes used and the soft-corner images on the offer cards detracts from the overall design coherence.
Blog section - The text "students" initially crossed the image alignment and should have been vertically aligned. The "Read more" button alignment was inconsistent, shifting up and down. Additionally, the 'View all' text button was positioned too far from the cards. Adjustments are needed to improve alignment and spacing for a cleaner, more cohesive design.
Footer - The headings are visually similar to the content and should be bolded to stand out as distinct headings. Additionally, the social links are too small and in a round shape; they should be slightly larger to ensure better visibility and clarity.
And also About Us section should be front of the list for improved visibility and accessibility.
